TAVARES — Park rangers invite residents and visitors to discover the ecosystems, management and wildlife at a hike on The Pasture Reserve.
“Here’s a chance to hike through the Green Swamp area, considered an ‘Area of Critical State Concern,’” said Gallus Quigley, park ranger with Lake County’s Parks & Trails Division. “This guided tour offers the opportunity to explore a mosaic of uplands and wetlands, the literal heart of the Floridian aquifer.”
“Explore Your Reserve Hike” will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6 at The Pasture Reserve on Lake Erie Road, Groveland.
The event is free and preregistration
is recommended. To maximize the outdoor experience, participants are encouraged to bring binoculars, field guides, water, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and hiking shoes.
