County’s economic improvement leads Groveland business to have open-recruitment event

RELEASE DATE: May 6, 2013

TAVARES — In partnership with Workforce Central Florida, Cherry Lake Tree Farm, Inc. is recruiting for multiple openings in several different positions at its office in Groveland. 
The Mass Recruitment will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 8 at Cherry Lake Tree Farm, Inc., 7836 Cherry Lake Road, Groveland. Those interested in applying should bring a resume and are required to register with the Employ Florida Marketplace at www.employflorida.com. 

Workforce Central Florida reported in April that Lake County’s unemployment rate decreased from 8.3 percent in January 2013 to 7.6 percent in February. The county’s unemployment rate dropped 2.2 percent since February 2012, when it was 9.7 percent. Positive business growth in Lake County has resulted in increasing employment opportunities for residents. 

The positions that will be filled are: 
 
Job Order # 9776750/ Tree Maintenance Laborer
Requirements: One to three months of prior nursery or tree-farm experience in pruning horticulture products. Must be able to lift and carry as much as 50 pounds. Ability to operate gas-powered equipment such as gas pruners and shears is required. Employer does drug screening.

Job Order #9776754/Greenhouse Laborer
Requirements: One to three months of greenhouse or shade-house experience in propagating horticulture products. Prior greenhouse experience is preferred. Must be able to lift and carry as much as 30 pounds. Employer does drug screening.

Job Order # 9776801/Shifters
Requirements: One to three months of prior nursery or tree-farm experience planting and transplanting products. Tractor Certification Operation is a plus. Must be able to lift and carry as much as 50 pounds. Farm equipment operation is a plus. Employer does drug screening.

Job Order # 9776811/Landscape Installation Laborer
Requirements:  No minimum education required.  6-12 months prior landscaping installation experience preferred.  Lifting and carrying up to 50lbs and ability to do hard physical work. Employer does drug screen.
