TAVARES — In an effort to enhance customer service, the Lake County Animal Services Division announced that they will now be opening the Animal Shelter every Saturday of the month. This expands the shelter hours to 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The division also worked with the Lake County Public Works Department to install about a dozen new directional road signs to help residents find the facility, located at 28123 County Road 561, Tavares. The building is about half a mile south of the intersection of County Roads 448 and 561 towards Astatula, and the entrance is off Frankies Road.
“Now that the Animal Shelter is open every Saturday, it’s more convenient to bring your pet to be licensed or vaccinated and even adopt a new friend,” said Cyndi Nason, manager for Lake County Animal Services. “The new directional signs should also help draw visitors who might not know where the shelter is.”
