TAVARES — The University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension in Lake County will host a “Solo, Dormitory or Apartment Meals” class from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 30 at the Lake County Agricultural Center, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares.
The program will help participants eat better and save money when preparing meals for one or two people.
“Cooking meals for one or two people can be challenging,” said Julie England, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent at the UF/IFAS Extension in Lake County. “People often buy too much food and end up wasting it, make one big meal and get tired of eating leftovers, or just keep making the same meals.”
At the program, England will discuss and demonstrate easy, healthy recipes that can be prepared without a lot of ingredients or equipment. Participants will be able to sample the prepared dishes.
The cost of the class is $8 and is open to all ages. Registration is required by Sunday, July 28 and can be completed at http://collegecooking2013.eventbrite.com.
For more information about the program, contact England at 352-343-4101 ext. 2721 or email@example.com.
