TAVARES — The wheels on the bus will go round and round, all through town, but before this occurs, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners is asking for the public’s assistance to think of a creative name for the County’s new transit system.
A new transit system is scheduled to begin in February 2007 serving the Lake County communities along U.S. Highway 441. Residents are encouraged to enter creative names for this new transit system through the “Name the Bus Contest.”
Fill out a contest entry form at www.lakecountyfl.gov, keyword: name the bus, or www.lakesumtermpo.com. Mail the completed entry form by Tuesday, Oct. 31, to the Lake County Department of Community Services, Transportation Disadvantaged Division, PO Box 7800, Tavares, FL 32778. The winning entry will be announced no later than Dec. 31.
The winning entry will receive public recognition by the Board of County Commissioners, as well as, one year of free service on the transit system. The contest winner will also be invited to participate in the grand opening activities for the transit system.
