TAVARES — The University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension in Lake County is hosting classes in Tavares and Umatilla on arthritis pain management.
The free program, called “Put Pain in Its Place: How to Get Osteoarthritis Pain Under Control,” will provide older adults knowledge about osteoarthritis pain and offer them strategies to relieve it.
"Arthritis is the nation’s leading cause of disability,” said Julie England, Family and Consumer Sciences extension agent with UF/IFAS Extension in Lake County. “The program will discuss diagnosis, management and treatment options.”
The Tavares class is from 2 – 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23 at the Lake County Extension Office, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares. Registration is required, and can be completed online at http://lakepaininplace.eventbrite.com.
The Umatilla class is from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7 at the Umatilla Public Library, 412 Hatfield Drive, Umatilla. Registration is recommended, and can be completed online at http://umatillapain2014.eventbrite.com.
