UF/IFAS Extension in Lake County to host
‘Nourish Your Body’ series

RELEASE DATE: January 17, 2014

LADY LAKE — The University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension in Lake County is partnering with the Lady Lake Public Library to provide the “Nourish Your Body” educational series at the library, located at 225 W. Guava St., Lady Lake.

Julie England, Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent, will present the free, four-part series which will provide information on brain health, the digestive system and maintaining eyesight, bones and joints. Participants are welcome to attend any or all of the programs. 

All programs are from 1 – 2:30 p.m. Registration is suggested either online or by calling 352-343-4101 ext. 2719 or 2721.

“Maintain Your Brain” - Monday, Jan. 27
Learn ways to nourish the brain through proper nutrition and mental activity and discover memory tools and tips. Register at http://brainladylake.eventbrite.com.

“Eating for Your Eyes” - Monday, Feb. 24
Recognize risk factors and foods to minimize the chance of vision loss and understand how eating healthfully now can help vision in the future. Register at http://eyesladylake.eventbrite.com

“Nourish Your Bones and Joints” - Monday, March 31
Learn how eating nutrient-rich foods and doing weight-bearing exercise can help keep bones in better shape, and how to ease joint stiffness and stay mobile. Register at http://bonesladylake.eventbrite.com.

“Nourish Your Digestive System” - Monday, April 28
Discover ways to improve digestive health with tips and information about fiber, probiotics and prebiotics. Register at http://lldigestive.eventbrite.com.

The mission of the UF/IFAS Extension in Lake County is to develop knowledge in agricultural, human and natural resources and to make that knowledge accessible to sustain and enhance the quality of human life.
