Based at the Hickory Point Recreational Facility, 27341 State Road 19, Tavares, the open format tournament will offer amateur anglers the chance to compete for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes during the weekend event.

“The Oakley Big Bass Tour is the nation’s premier big bass tournament series and Lake County’s Harris Chain of Lakes is the ideal location for largemouth bass fishing,” said Robert Chandler, Lake County’s director of economic development and tourism. “We welcome anglers to this exciting tournament to experience the top-notch fishing and big catches our bountiful lakes have to offer.”

The tournament is open only to amateur anglers. The one-day entry fee is $100 per angler and the two-day entry fee is $150 per angler. The final on-site registration will be held at Hickory Point from 3 – 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28. Anglers may pre-register online at www.oakleybigbass.com.

There will be seven weigh-ins every hour with over $35,000 in hourly cash payouts over the weekend.  The angler with the largest overall big bass of the tournament will take home a 2014 Nitro Z7 bass boat valued at $30,000.
