TAVARES – The Young Families Health Initiative Committee of Lake County is hosting the 25th Annual Baby Fair: “An Event for First Time Parents” on Tuesday, April 29 at the Lake County Agricultural Center, 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares and Wednesday, May 7 at the Leesburg Community Center, 109 E. Dixie Ave. in Leesburg.
New parents will have an opportunity to learn about child safety, early learning, positive parenting and healthy lifestyles at both upcoming events. The fairs are open to first-time or special-needs parents including women who are currently pregnant as well as parents of newborns. The free events include educational programs and opportunities to visit informational booths of local agencies and non-profit organizations.
The programs are the same at each location, so participants are asked to choose the most convenient session. Registration for each event is from 5:15 - 6 p.m. and the program begins at 6:15 p.m.
The 25th Annual Baby Fair is made possible through a partnership with agencies such as The Florida Department of Health in Lake County, UF/IFAS Extension Lake County, Early Learning Coalition, Healthy Families and Kids Central, Inc. Major sponsors include Central Florida Health Alliance/Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Florida Hospital Waterman, Kiwanis Clubs, Staywell and Lake County quilting groups.
