TAVARES – The Lake County Public Works Department is inviting residents and interested members of the public to an open house forum regarding the upcoming Lake Saunders outfall drainage project. The forum will be held from 5:30 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 at the Lake County Board of County Commissioners Administrative Building located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
The project involves replacement of an existing piped drainage run and ditch work between southern outfall of Lake Saunders on Old U.S. Highway 441 and Lake Dora on Lake Shore Drive near Bay Road. The project also includes drainage improvements at the railroad crossing on Bay Road.
Work is expected to begin this summer and be completed by fall.
There will be no formal presentation during the open house forum, but Public Works representatives will be on-hand to discuss the project plans and accept public comment. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
