TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners at its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, Oct. 17, approved an award from the Jobs Growth Investment (JGI) Trust Fund to Dunkin' Donuts Southeast Distribution Center Inc. for creating 42 new positions.
Lake County established and funded a jobs growth investment trust fund in 1995 to assist in business expansion and relocation projects deemed to be economically significant to the County. This program is funded annually by Lake County. Employers who create positions with an annual wage that is 115 percent or more of the Lake County average annual wage are eligible for awards per new job created.
Dunkin' Donuts Southeast Distribution Center recently opened a distribution center at Lake County’s Christopher C. Ford Commerce Park, located near the intersection of State Road 19 and U.S. Highway 27. The new facility will create 65 new jobs, with 42 qualifying for JGI awards totaling $84,000.
“Dunkin Donuts is a welcome addition to the Commerce Park and Lake County is pleased to award these funds to a company of their caliber,” said Dottie Keedy, Director of the Lake County Department of Economic Growth and Redevelopment.
