TAVARES – The University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension in Lake County is presenting two free webinars to help residents improve their finances from the comfort of their own homes.
The “Introduction to Mutual Funds” webinar will be held from noon - 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 26. Participants will learn about this popular investment vehicle with topics including the advantages and disadvantages of mutual funds, fund options, how to analyze fees, investing for beginners and a demonstration of tools to analyze funds. The “Comparing Mutual Funds and Exchange Traded Funds” webinar will be presented from noon – 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29 and will discuss the differences and benefits of these fund types including potential risks and rewards, tax efficiency, purchasing, expense and fee differences and how the funds may fit a person’s financial goals.
