TAVARES – Lake County Commissioners Sean Parks and Tim Sullivan were among the honorees at the Florida Association of Counties (FAC) Annual Conference held in Orlando last week.
Commissioner Parks earned the Advanced County Commissioner (ACC) Designation following the completion of a comprehensive study program. Launched by FAC in 2006, the ACC education program is designed for graduates of the Certified County Commissioners (CCC) Program.
“This certification allows our citizen electorate to become experts in county government improving their communities,” said FAC Executive Director Chris Holley.
Commissioner Sullivan graduated from the CCC Program, a voluntary program of study designed for county commissioners to learn information and enhance skills relevant to their duties and responsibilities. CCC courses are offered year-round at FAC conferences and can be completed within 12-18 months.
The commissioners were honored for their achievements during the June 24 commission meeting.
The Florida Association of Counties helps counties effectively serve and represent Floridians by strengthening and preserving county home rule through advocacy, education and collaboration.
