TAVARES – The University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension in Lake County is hosting a “Fall and Winter Vegetable Gardening” class at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2 at the Lake County Agricultural Center, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares. The class is part of the "Saturday in the Garden” speaker series and will be presented by Brooke Moffis, UF/IFAS Residential Horticulture Agent.
Online registration for the class is available at http://satinthegarden080214.eventbrite.com. The fee for the class is $5 for adults and free for children under the age of 16.
Participants are also invited to explore the Discovery Gardens, a 3.5-acre habitat next to the Agricultural Center, which is open from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month. Class attendance is not required to visit the gardens and entry is free.
