LEESBURG – Exhibitor and vendor registration for Lake County’s 3rd Annual Wings & Wildflowers Festival, to be held Oct. 3-5 in Leesburg, has been extended. Registration will now close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, giving nature-friendly businesses a final chance to be a part of the increasingly popular ecotourism event.
Lake County is hosting this year’s festival at Venetian Gardens, located at 201 E. Dixie Ave., Leesburg. Indoor and outdoor vending options will be available on the garden grounds and inside the newly renovated Leesburg Community Building.
With Lake County’s growing reputation as Florida’s premier birding destination, the goal of the festival is to enhance awareness and appreciation of Lake County’s ecotourism, natural resources and quality of life. The festival is an ideal event for vendors to gain an enhanced presence in the region, as well as in the birding and wildlife communities.
The festival features field trips to birding hotspots and wildflower havens and brings some of the nation's top birding, wildflower and nature experts to the area. This year’s keynote speakers include Greg Miller, the inspiration behind the star-studded film “The Big Year,” Stacy Tornio, editor of the premier national birding and gardening publication “Birds & Blooms” and Roger L. Hammer, an award-winning naturalist and author who served as the director of Castellow Hammock Nature Center in Miami.
Spaces available for rent include 10’x10’, 10’x20’ and food vendor spaces. Booths range in cost from $25 for not-for-profits to $200 for large exhibitor areas. Applications and payment must be received by the cutoff date, and spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Exhibitors and vendors must keep their booths open for business during all festival hours: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Oct. 3-4 and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Oct. 5.
