TAVARES – Lake County’s 7,678 manufacturing employees produce a large variety of goods including specialized tools, communications equipment, and aerospace, medical and automotive products.
“With $61.8 billion in manufactured goods exported in 2012 alone, manufacturers are the life force behind Florida’s economy, and Lake County is a great example of this healthy manufacturing base,” said Adam Sumner, Lake County Economic Development & Tourism Department manager.
In this, the last of a three-part series during October, Manufacturing Month, Lake County is recognizing some its local manufacturers:
• Spencer Fabrication, located in Tavares, produces custom products from metals inside a 20,000-square-foot facility. Services offered include laser cutting, sawing, shearing, welding, finishing, painting and assembling finished products.
• G.W. Schultz Tool Inc., headquartered in Tavares for over 30 years, manufactures premium rotary cutting tools for the aerospace, medical, energy, engineering, firearms and automotive industries. www.gwschultz.com
• Vac-Tron Equipment, located in Okahumpka, is the industry innovation leader in industrial vacuums, potholing, daylighting, hydro-excavation, air excavation and environmental clean-up equipment. They will be celebrating their 20-year anniversary in November. www.vactron.com
• Data Graphics, of Mount Dora, has been manufacturing quality nameplates, overlays and labels both domestically and overseas since 1984, creating products used in the telecommunications, medical, aerospace, military and heavy equipment manufacturing industries. www.datagraphicsinc.com
