SORRENTO – The Lake County Mount Plymouth-Sorrento Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Sorrento Elementary School, located at 24605 Wallick Road, Sorrento.
Citizens are invited to attend and learn about the CRA Advisory Committee's work, as well as major projects planned in the area. Exhibitors and stakeholders will be discussing and displaying information regarding:
• The CRA Redevelopment Plan
• Wekiva Parkway
• Wekiva trail system
• Lake County Parks & Trails projects
• Realignment of County Road 437
• Wolf Branch Innovation District
• East Lake County Library
• Plans for a portion of State Road 46 to be transferred to the county
• State Road 46 section renaming
The committee is seeking input from the community on the top three names for a portion of State Road 46 in the Mount Plymouth-Sorrento area to be renamed when the county takes ownership of the road. The names, Sorrento Avenue, Sorrento Main Street and County Road 46, chosen through an online poll, will be presented to the Lake County Commission in February.The Mount Plymouth-Sorrento CRA is responsible for developing and implementing the Community Redevelopment Plan, which addresses the unique needs of area. The plan includes the overall goals for redevelopment in the area, as well as identifying the types of projects planned. Under state law, a Community Development Area is one that is targeted for redevelopment and revitalization by a local government.
