The Lake County Transportation Division announces bus route changes

RELEASE DATE: November 19, 2014

TAVARES – The Lake County Transportation Division is announcing changes to two LakeXpress fixed routes beginning Monday, Dec. 1.

Route 1, which runs from The Villages to Eustis via U.S. Highway 441, will shift slightly in the Eustis area to better serve Orange Avenue (State Road 44). Rather than using Clifford Avenue to reach State Road 19, the bus will provide service on Cardinal Avenue to Orange Avenue and State Road 19.

Route 3, Mount Dora’s circulator, will reverse its current direction and will operate clockwise along Donnelly Street and Old U.S. Highway 441. Route 3 operates between Lake Tech in the east and downtown Mount Dora in the west.

The new Route 1 and 3 schedules and maps are available at www.ridelakexpress.com.

Additionally, LYNX has approved the elimination of the Xpress 204 bus service from Clermont to downtown Orlando as of Dec. 14.

For more information on these changes, contact the Lake County Transportation Division at 352-323-5733.
