Park rangers invite kids to enjoy the great outdoors during free children’s activities

RELEASE DATE: November 19, 2014

TAVARES – Lake County Parks & Trails rangers are offering two upcoming educational events for children aimed at teaching them to safely appreciate the great outdoors.
The “Living with Bears Activity for Kids” will be held from 10 - 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28 at Paisley Community Park, 24956 County Road 42, Paisley. This event will teach children about the habits and activities of bears during the fall and winter seasons, and how to protect themselves while living in bear country.

The “Camping Skills for Kids” class will be held from 10 - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Lake May Reserve, 36300 County Road 44A, Eustis. During this activity, kids will learn basic safety precautions, how to set up camp and roast marshmallows.
