TAVARES – The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will present the State of the County address at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2 in the County Commission Chambers of the Lake County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
The theme, “Focusing Forward,” will outline the major accomplishments of the commission during fiscal year 2014 – including interlocal service boundary agreements, infrastructure and road improvements, economic development initiatives, record tourism numbers and quality of life issues.
The State of the County presentation will begin promptly at 9 a.m. with an introduction by Chairman Jimmy Conner and inductions into the Women’s Hall of Fame. A regularly scheduled County Commission meeting will follow.
Clermont historian emeritus and founding member of the South Lake Historical Society, Dolores Gano Walker, and the late Jacquelyn Hester, a former Lake County Clerk of the County Judge’s Court and longtime educator, will be honored as inductees into the Lake County Women’s Hall of Fame.
