TAVARES – The University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension in Lake County is hosting the "Winterizing Your Landscape” class at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Lake County Agricultural Center, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares. The class is part of the "Saturday in the Garden” speaker series and will be presented by Brooke Moffis, Residential Horticulture Agent with UF/IFAS Extension in Lake County.
“This class will teach participants how to care for turf and protect plants, as well as general plant maintenance during the winter months,” said Moffis.

Participants are also invited to explore the Discovery Gardens, a 3.5-acre habitat next to the Agricultural Center that features 20 themed gardens, which is open from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Participation in the program is not required to enter Discovery Gardens.
