TAVARES – The Lake County Economic Development & Tourism Department is encouraging art lovers to experience the abundance of locally made art during the “Off the Beaten Path” 4th Annual Florida Arts Tour, to be held at multiple locations throughout the county from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 and from noon – 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7.
This free, self-guided tour through Central Florida to artists’ studios and cultural venues is sponsored by the Economic Development & Tourism Department, and will feature painting, pottery, sculpture, illustrations, encaustic, woodwork and more. The tour will introduce participants to more than 30 professional artists at 12 studios, two art centers, an art museum, an artist’s co-op and a nature center. The weekend-long event will also offer an opportunity to experience demonstrations at several venues where visitors can interact with artists in their unique studio environments, as well as shop for holiday gifts and fine art.
“Lake County is ‘Real Florida. Real Close.’ and this is an ideal opportunity not only for Lake County citizens, but for residents of surrounding counties, to learn about our unique ‘off the beaten path’ exhibits, artists and cultural not-for-profits,” said Erika Greene, Lake County Economic Development & Tourism coordinator.
