TAVARES – The 11th Annual Tavares African-American Heritage Festival, a free cultural and educational event celebrating the contributions of African Americans in Lake County, will be celebrated from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at Wooton Park, located at 100 E. Ruby St. in Tavares.
Guests will be treated to an assortment of entertainment including gospel rap, praise dancers, food vendors and family-friendly comedy. This year’s event features host Rod-Z, an Orlando native and professional entertainer who has opened for an array of well-known comedians.
The festival is organized by the Tavares African-American Heritage Organization, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization celebrating the contributions of African-Americans. Its goal is to provide cultural, educational, religious, civic and charitable contributions to the community.
