LEESBURG – Sponsorship registration is now open for Lake County’s 4th Annual Wings and Wildflowers Festival, to be held Oct. 2-4 at Venetian Gardens, 201 E. Dixie Ave., Leesburg.
The Wings and Wildflowers Festival will feature field trips in birding hotspots and wildflower havens, as well as bring some of the nation's top birding, wildflower and nature experts to the area. Last year’s Wings & Wildflowers festival reached an attendance of over 4,000 people and included more than 30 classes and nearly 50 field trips at 21 sites countywide, with Venetian Gardens as a central location for many of the activities.
This year’s keynote speakers are James Currie, international birder and host of “Nikon’s Birding Adventures TV,” Gallus Quigley, expert birder and trails specialist with the Lake County Parks & Trails Division, and Melinda Myers, columnist for “Birds & Blooms” magazine and host of the nationally syndicated “Melinda’s Garden Moment” TV and radio program.
“With Lake County’s reputation as Florida’s premier birding destination, the goal of the festival is to enhance awareness and appreciation of Lake County’s quality of life, natural resources and support environmental initiatives for both locals and visitors,” said Robert Chandler, Lake County Economic Growth Director. “The festival is an ideal event for sponsors to gain a greater presence in the community, as well as in the growing birding and wildlife communities.”
Sponsorships begin at the Monarch level for $250, and go to $2,000 for the top-tiered Florida Scrub-Jay level. Sponsors of the festival will be included in all advertising, social media, website and other promotional outlets.
