TAVARES — Lake County Commissioners Catherine Hanson and Bob Pool received plaques, framed artistic posters and plenty of handshakes and hugs at their last meeting with the Lake County Board of County Commissioners.
“It’s been an honor to serve with all of you,” Pool said to his fellow Board members. “When I look back at the different opportunities and challenges we’ve had it’s been a wonderful experience.”
Commissioner Catherine Hanson receives a plaque for her 16 years of service as fellow outgoing Commissioner Bob Pool applauds her commitment.
Hanson added, “Hopefully we have planted a lot of seeds that will continue to grow. I’m very excited about the future of Lake County and I will certainly miss this role.”
Hanson served on the County Commission for 16 years and Pool served eight years. Among their accomplishments were expanding the County’s park system, improving the County’s transportation network and providing the foresight to help create a host of innovative and worthy County programs.
Hanson and Pool will remain as Lake County Commissioners until Nov. 21 when two new individuals will be sworn into office.
