CLERMONT— The Lake County Public Works Department is alerting motorists to changes in traffic patterns along North Hancock Road near the intersection of County Road 50 (Old Highway 50) in the Clermont area beginning Tuesday, June 30.
Traffic on North Hancock Road near its intersection with County Road 50 will temporarily shift from a four-lane traffic pattern to a two-lane traffic pattern, open to both northbound and southbound traffic. The shift is expected to last approximately two months.
Detour signs will be posted to alert the public and motorists are asked to use caution in the area. Commuters should allow for additional time to travel through this area.
Traffic on County Road 50 will not be affected.
The changes are part of the continuing roadwork surrounding the North Hancock Extension project in the Clermont/Minneola area and the shift beginning Tuesday will allow construction to begin on the northbound lanes of the project. Once completed, the project will provide a major transportation corridor connecting to the new Minneola Interchange on the Florida Turnpike.
