TAVARES — The University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension in Lake County is hosting “Turf and Groundcovers” on Saturday, July 11 at 10 a.m. at the Lake County Agricultural Center, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares.
The class, which is part of the Saturday in the Garden speaker series, will be presented by UF/IFAS Extension Agent Brooke Moffis.
“This informative lecture will teach residents about the basics of turf care and selection of groundcovers and will be followed by an outdoor tour of the turf walk at Discovery Gardens,” said Moffis.

Participants are also invited to explore the Discovery Gardens, a 3.5-acre habitat next to the Agricultural Center, which is open from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Class participation is not required for entry into the gardens.
