TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will hold two upcoming public hearings on the budget and millage for fiscal year 2016. The first public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 5:05 p.m. and the final public hearing is set for Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 5:05 p.m. Both meetings will be held inside the Board Chambers, located on the second floor of the County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
Citizens wishing to participate in the public comment portion of Lake County Board of County Commissioners meetings must fill out a comment card prior to the item being considered. All speakers are limited to three minutes, however the Chair retains the discretion to adjust speaking time limits.
The Lake County Board of County Commissioners held 20 public budget workshops since January regarding everything from libraries to Fire Rescue to solid waste operations.

The fiscal year of Lake County's annual budget is Oct.1 through Sept. 30. The Lake County Budget Division is committed to account for, and manage, public funds appropriately and openly, to recommend effective and efficient financial plans, and to ensure adequate funding is available to carry forward programs as directed by the Board of County Commissioners.
