Portion of County Road 450 in Umatilla to be closed during road improvements

RELEASE DATE: October 7, 2015

UMATILLA — Due to planned roadwork in the area, County Road 450 in Umatilla is expected to be closed at Orange Avenue from Monday, Oct. 19 – Friday, Oct. 23. Traffic on State Road 19 will be detoured at Cassady Street south of County Road 450 and at County Road 42 north of County Road 450. Traffic along County Road 450 will be detoured at Skyline Drive.

The roadwork will affect visitors traveling to North Lake Park via State Road 19. Detour signs will be in place to assist motorists. Drivers are urged to exercise caution in the area.

The improvements are being done in conjunction with the city of Umatilla’s Orange Avenue Redesign and Rehabilitation Project. The project entails reducing roadway deterioration, eliminating potholes and correcting stormwater ponding within the roadway.
Through an interlocal agreement, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners agreed to contribute $177,300 to the nearly $1.7 million city-managed project.
