CLERMONT— The Lake County Public Works Department is alerting motorists that crews will be paving portions of Old Highway 50 near Turkey Farms Road during the evenings of Tuesday, Nov. 3 and Wednesday, Nov. 4. The work will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. on both days.
“We are doing the work at night in order to minimize the impact this could have on motorists in the area,” said Lori Koontz, Road Operations Manager with the Lake County Public Works Department. “All traffic lanes are expected to be open in time for those driving to and from area schools in the morning.”
Detour signs will be posted to alert the public and motorists are asked to use caution in the area. Commuters should allow for additional time to travel through this area.
The project is part of the North Hancock Road Extension, which when done, will provide a major transportation corridor connecting to the new Minneola Interchange on the Florida Turnpike.
