MINNEOLA — As part of the North Hancock Road Extension Project, the clay portions of North Hancock Road and Citrus Grove Road will be closed to through traffic effective Tuesday, Jan. 12. Additionally, Jorhagen Drive, a city of Minneola maintained road, will be closed at its connection to North Hancock Road.
The road closures are needed to accommodate the next phase of construction of the North Hancock Road Extension in the Clermont/Minneola area. With scheduled completion in March 2016, the project will provide a major transportation corridor connecting to the new Minneola Interchange on the Florida Turnpike.
Jorhagen Drive will re-open after the connection to the Turnpike has been completed, while the clay portions of North Hancock Road and Citrus Grove Road will remain closed due to a new traffic pattern in this area.
Detour signs will be posted to alert the public and motorists are asked to use caution in the area. Commuters should allow for additional time to travel through this area.
