GROVELAND — The Lake County Parks & Trails Division is inviting the public to a meeting to discuss the future recreational amenities of the South Lake Regional Park at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the E.L. Puryear Building, 243 S. Lake Ave., Groveland.
The purpose of the meeting is to encourage and obtain public input about the community’s vision for the park.
Thus far, a 5,000-linear-foot fence has been installed around the perimeter of the site, and boundary and topographic surveys have been completed. The project consultant, along with county staff, have also recently begun meeting with stakeholders in the area.
South Lake County is one area Lake County has identified in its master plan as needing additional active recreation. All residents, including those living in nearby South Lake municipalities, are invited to offer their thoughts about the types of recreational activities they feel would best suit this park and this community.
