TAVARES — Lake County’s Economic Development & Tourism Division, in partnership with the county’s Communications Department, has launched the new Made in Lake website (www.madeinlake.com), designed to assist and celebrate the companies that create products locally while providing jobs in the community.
Lake County Economic Development has recently identified the manufacturing sector as one of Lake County’s most important industries, and has engaged in multiple initiatives aimed at strengthening the industry locally, including the Made in Lake site. The website seeks to unify the manufacturing industry, market Lake County manufacturing businesses, foster increased pride in the industry and create new connections, with the overall goal of helping to stimulate the economy.
All manufacturing companies located and producing products in Lake County are encouraged to register at www.madeinlake.com. The process of registering is simple, fast and free, and will provide significant exposure for a business and its products. Users of the site, both those registered and those looking for local manufacturing companies, will be able to easily print information about local manufacturers based on a range of variables. There is no cost to be listed on the website or to utilize its services.
“Our Lake County manufacturing businesses are key to building a more diverse and sustainable local economy,” said Robert Chandler, director of Lake County Economic Growth. “By participating in the Made in Lake Program, business leaders will help enhance the fiscal health of our community while reaping measurable benefits.”
Lake County seeks to aggressively retain, attract and grow jobs, while being proactive in economic development and business friendly practices.
