TAVARES— The Lake County Public Works Department is alerting motorists to a traffic pattern change to begin on Thursday, June 2 at the intersection of State Road 19 and County Road 561.
There will be a permanent lane closure to prevent left turns onto State Road 19 from County Road 561 for motorists traveling northbound. These drivers should instead use County Road 448 to reach State Road 19.
Additionally, there will be a temporary, three-night lane closure on State Road 19 preventing left turns onto County Road 561 beginning after the July 4 holiday. During these nights, motorists traveling southbound on State Road 19 will be detoured to County Road 448 to connect to southbound County Road 561. Traffic in this area will be normal during daytime hours.
Motorists are asked to allow for extra travel time, and to exercise caution while in the area due to the new traffic pattern. Detour signs will be posted to alert the public to these changes.
