LEESBURG— The Lake County Arts & Cultural Alliance is hosting a networking meeting open to the public, local artists and cultural organizations at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 6 at the Leesburg Center for the Arts, 429 W. Magnolia St. in Leesburg.
The goal of the meeting is to promote “the betterment of the arts and cultural community as a whole and develop partnerships based on the arts,” said Amy Painter, Executive Director of the Leesburg Center for the Arts.
The first hour will offer reports from each appointed representative of the Alliance, discussing the state of arts and culture in the community. The second hour will feature break-out discussion groups including local solutions to increase art education in public schools as well as ideas for Lake County arts organizations to improve collaborative efforts. Members of the public are also invited to discuss how the county and its municipalities can help foster the growth of arts and culture to further economic development in Lake County.
The Alliance was created to advise the Board of County Commissioners on matters relating to arts and cultural affairs within the county, and encourage and facilitate more efficient use of public and private resources for the development and support of the arts.
