CLERMONT— The Lake County Board of County Commissioners’ Economic Growth Department is inviting the public to the “Constructing a Better Lake County Summit” on Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 1-5 p.m. at the Clermont City Center, 620 W. Montrose St. in Clermont.
“As one of the fastest growing counties in Florida, Lake County must continue to adopt and implement new and innovative practices to ensure that future development preserves our quality of life,” said Lake County Board of County Commissioners Chairman Sean Parks. “This summit seeks to bring together elected officials, community leaders, builders, and those focused on water conservation and Florida-friendly landscaping for a meeting of the minds to discuss best practices as we move forward.”
The speakers will cover a multitude of topics, including trends in healthy lifestyle communities, inclusive development, green building and more.
Program speakers include:
- Pierce Jones, director and founding member of the Program for Resource Efficient Communities
- Mark Hostetler, associate professor in the Department of Wildlife Ecology at the University of Florida
- Brian Canin, president of Orlando-based Canin Associates
- Jim Lentz, developer of sustainable, healthy-living communities such as Harmony
