TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will host an investiture ceremony and reception on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. in the County Commission Chambers of the Lake County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
Timothy I. Sullivan, District 1, Wendy R. Breeden, District 3 and Josh Blake, District 5, will take the Oath of Office and be sworn in. A reception will follow and a regularly scheduled County Commission meeting will take place immediately after the intermission.
Commissioner Sullivan will begin his second term on the County Commission. He previously served as a City Commissioner and Mayor of Fruitland Park, and as a Lake County School Board member. He also was on the Board of Directors of the Central Florida Health Alliance for 12 years, and retired in 2009 as Brigadier General from the Florida Army National Guard, serving in the military for 33 years.
Commissioner-elect Breeden served as Lake County’s Public Resources Department Director from September 2009 through January 2016, which included oversight and administration of the Parks and Trails Division, Library Services Division, Extension Services Division and the Lake County Fairgrounds Program. She began her career with Lake County as a Library Coordinator in 1992.
Commissioner-elect Blake worked as a legislative aide for the Florida House of Representatives District 33, graduated from the Leadership Lake class of 2011 and serves on the board of the United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties. He is a graduate of Lake-Sumter State College, and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from University of North Florida
