TAVARES – Lake County is expected to complete its final hurricane storm debris collection on county-maintained roads by the end of January. In total, the county collected approximately 376,000 cubic yards of debris during the first pass.
Residents wishing to log their address with the hauler for final pickup, or who have questions about storm debris collection, should call 321-354-1809 by Jan. 19. The debris hotline is answered seven days a week between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Vegetative storm debris should be separated from construction debris, and all debris should be kept away from storm water drains, off roadways and away from power lines.
Residents may continue to dispose of their storm debris at the Lake County Landfill or at any of the five convenience centers.
