Lake County Extension offers class on closing seasonal home

RELEASE DATE: February 23, 2018

TAVARES –  Ideal for snowbirds, the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension in Lake County is offering four opportunities for residents to attend the “Closing Your Seasonal Home” class. During these free workshops, participants will learn how to prepare their home from the inside and out, prevent mold and mildew, organize and update important papers and protect against pests, storms and burglars.

“This popular program offers tips for closing seasonal homes or for those who are leaving for an extended time,” said Mia Wilchcombe, Family and Consumer Science Agent I. “Participants will gain an understanding of what they can do to minimize the possibility of discovering serious issues when they return home.”
