Lake County to host public workshop on proposed Round Lake Road improvements

RELEASE DATE: September 26, 2018

MOUNT DORA – Lake County is hosting the Alternative Concepts Public Workshop for the Round Lake Road Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Mount Dora Community Building, located at 520 N. Baker St., Mount Dora.

The study focuses on proposed transportation improvements along a nearly 5-mile stretch on Round Lake Road from Meadowland Drive in Orange County to Wolf Branch Road in Lake County, as well as the proposed improvements on a new alignment north of Wolf Branch Road to north of State Road 44. The study is reviewing how people and vehicles travel in this area and identifying potential mobility and operational solutions.

The open-house style public workshop will present the alternative transportation improvement concepts along with initial evaluations. This workshop will provide residents an opportunity to express their views concerning the social, economic, and environmental impacts of the proposed Round Lake Road improvements. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and to offer input to the study team. There will be no formal presentation, however an informational video will run continuously throughout the evening. Additional information is available online, and the workshop displays and video will be posted at www.roundlakeroadstudy.com within a week after the workshop.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. Persons who require language translation or interpretive services, which are provided at no cost, or those requiring special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) may request assistance by contacting Fred Martin, Lake County Title VI/Nondiscrimination and ADA Coordinator, at 352-343-9653 or fmartin@lakecountyfl.gov at least seven days prior to the meeting.
