EUSTIS — The Lake County Department of Public Works is hosting a public informational meeting on Tuesday, April 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Eustis Middle School, located at 18725 E. Bates Ave. to present information about safety improvements to Bates Avenue, from Wall Street to Estes Road.
At the forum, the County will present existing conditions and proposed improvements to Bates Avenue, including widening and resurfacing the road from its current width of 19 to 24 feet and constructing a sidewalk on the south side of the road. During the public meeting, representatives from the Department of Public Works and the transportation-consulting firm of Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. will be available to receive comments and address questions regarding the project. A brief presentation about the project is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
This is the first meeting regarding the Bates Avenue safety-improvement project. Additional meetings will be scheduled when a preliminary design is completed. An informational mailing regarding the public meeting was sent to all residences within 100 feet of the project.
