TAVARES — Interested parties that would like to participate in Lake County Days 2006 on Monday, Feb. 13, and Tuesday, Feb. 14, have until Monday, Feb. 6, to reserve a spot.
The two-day event provides the opportunity for many local elected officials, and business and community leaders to meet with the Lake County Legislative Delegation of state senators and representatives. The public is invited to participate in this exciting two-day event sponsored by the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, the Lake County Day Committee, Sprint, Progress Energy and the Chamber Alliance of Lake County. Lake County Days 2006 begins Feb. 13 with a reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mary Brogan Art and Science Museum, located at 350 S. Duval St., Tallahassee.
The event continues Feb. 14 with a legislative briefing breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Park Plaza Hotel, located at 415 N. Monroe St., Tallahassee. The briefing includes a panel of speakers from the Florida League of Cities, Florida Association of Counties and the Florida Chamber of Commerce. The panel will discuss important issues affecting Lake County in the upcoming legislative session.
The event closes with a Lake County Day Luncheon on Feb. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Capitol Courtyard of the Florida Capitol Building, located at 400 S. Monroe St., Tallahassee. The luncheon is prepared by Lake County Sheriff Chris Daniels and staff, and will feature a performance from the Tavares Middle School Jazz Band.
