ASTOR — The Lake County Department of Public Works is hosting a second community meeting on Wednesday, May 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Astor Community Center, located at 24148 Ann St., to discuss a communitywide flood study.
A contracted consultant for the Stormwater Section of the Lake County Engineering Division is conducting the study. Due to the community’s limited stormwater infrastructure and history of road and residential flooding, the study will help identify improvements to address these issues.
The second community meeting will focus on the progress made to date, stormwater management needs of the community and a preview of proposed preliminary alternatives. For more information about this meeting or the Astor Flood Study, call the Lake County Stormwater Section at (352) 483-9080 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
