TAVARES — A public hearing is set for Tuesday, May 1, at about 9 a.m. before the Board of County Commissioners as Public Works staff will provide a recommendation for the typical section of improvements to Britt Road and a request for the Board to approve the second phase of design.
Britt Road is a two-lane road, which extends north and south from State Road 44 and Wolf Branch Road. The proposed roadway upgrades include improving the narrow 20-foot wide road with unpaved shoulders to 24-foot wide with 2-foot paved shoulders.
At the public meeting, representatives from the Lake County Department of Public Works and the transportation-consulting firm of Reynolds, Smith and Hills Inc. will provide information about the proposed roadway improvements. An informational mailing regarding the public meeting was sent to all residences within 100 feet of Britt Road.
For more information about the Britt Road public meeting, call Phil Maggio, Roadway Design Project Leader for the Department of Public Works, at (352) 483-9043.
