LEESBURG — Lake County park rangers will lead a nature hike on Saturday, June 2, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Haynes Creek Park, located at 34606 S. Haynes Creek Road, Leesburg.
The hike is about 1.5 miles along a trail looking for migrating songbirds and butterflies.
According to park rangers, Haynes Creek Park presents an interesting ecosystem with a creek-side hardwood hammock that is an ideal nesting area for wading and marsh birds.
Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Park rangers also recommend bringing binoculars, field guides, sunscreen, insect repellent and water.
