TAVARES — The Lake County Extension Office is hosting a Citrus Health Response Plan (CHRP) meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., which will provide information on the new guidelines and regulations for growing and shipping Florida citrus.
The intended audience for this meeting is citrus grove owners and managers, citrus nursery owners and managers and grove caretakers. The meeting agenda will include a CHRP program overview videotape covering nursery requirements, budwood certification, decontamination, survey techniques for greening and canker and best management guidelines for citrus diseases.
There will also be presentations on disease suppression techniques for the Asian citrus psyllid, citrus greening and citrus canker. Agriculture officials and staff from the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences will be in attendance to answer questions in a panel discussion format.
