TAVARES — Come out and join Lake County's park rangers for a cup of coffee and a morning chat on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Marsh Park, located at 36545 Yale Retreat Road in Eustis.
Residents are encouraged to attend this event to pick up some informational brochures, discuss Lake County parks and to take a short stroll through an area of Marsh Park that features newly planted vegetation.
“The park has no hiking trail, but walking under the oak hammock canopy makes for a great stroll," said Park Ranger Gallus Quigley. "The park’s restoration area, in the nearby meadow, has proven productive for nearly 60 species of birds, including nesting White-Winged Doves, Pileated Woodpeckers, Pine Warblers and Carolina Chickadees. Overhead and along the boating channel, you can also see many wading birds, Ospreys and possibly a Bald Eagle."
