TAVARES — The Lake County Department of Public Works will hold a public meeting about proposed safety improvements to County Road 455 on Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares.
The meeting will include a brief presentation by Public Works staff and the engineering firm of Moffatt & Nichol at 6:15 p.m. During the meeting, staff will provide information and answer questions about the proposed safety improvements to County Road 455, which include improving the radius and banking of a sharp roadway curve near the community of Howey Heights.
Other proposed safety improvements to County Road 455 at the Howey Heights curve include adding a pond to the north side and roadside swales to the south side to allow for better drainage. The roadway will remain as two, 12-foot lanes; however, a 3-foot shoulder will be added in both directions.
For more information about the meeting, call Tony Quattrocki, Project Manager for the Lake County Department of Public Works, at (352) 483-9042 or e-mail email@example.com.
