Learn about fall wildflowers on Sept. 30 at PEAR Park

RELEASE DATE: September 25, 2007

TAVARES — Lake County Park Ranger Wendy Poag will give a presentation about fall wildflowers on Sunday, Sept. 30, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Palatlakaha Environmental and Agricultural Reserve (PEAR Park), located at 5336 University Ave., off U.S. Highway 27 near Leesburg.

The presentation will include a pictorial of different wildflowers and the ecosystems in which they occur throughout Lake County and Florida, and their ability to be cultivated for home-garden use. Poag will also discuss whether a wildflower is a butterfly host or nectar plant and which butterflies utilize them.

For more information about the wildflower presentation, call Wendy Poag at (352) 742-0992 or e-mail wpoag@lakecountyfl.gov.
