Lake County rangers to guide paddling adventure in Groveland

RELEASE DATE: October 15, 2007

GROVELAND — Lake County park rangers will lead a canoeing and kayaking trip on Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Arnold Brothers Boat Ramp, located at 15945 State Road 19, Groveland.

Rangers will guide the paddling adventure while identifying a variety of wildlife and plants along the way. Participants must register for the guided tour and provide their own canoe or kayak, life vests and paddle. All reservations need to include the number of canoes and kayaks and the number of guests.

After the guided tour, participants are encouraged to explore this recently remodeled recreational facility. Reopened in June 2007, the boat ramp at this County recreational facility was repaired and new amenities that were added during construction included a 200-foot boardwalk and a pavilion with picnic tables.

For more information or reservations, call Park Ranger Wendy Poag at (352) 742-0992 or e-mail wpoag@lakecountyfl.gov.
